Rathana Chea came to Australia in 1982 as a refugee from Cambodia.

He is currently employed at the Sydney West Area Health Service as a Youth Project Officer.

He is a third year student at UTS, studying Law and Social Inquiry. He has previously held positions in the State and National Offices of the National Union of Students, and the UTS Students Association. He has also won various youth leadership awards.
