To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW we have a number of community events planned for Sydney and NSW.

What? The Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW 30th Anniversary Photo Competition.
Who can enter? NSW residents only. ADB employees and their family members are not permitted to enter.
What do you get? $1000 prize for the winner.
What about the other entries? Winner and short listed entries will be exhibited in Sydney and NSW venues and on the website.
Why? To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW When's the Deadline? Monday 15 October 2007.

Send your jpeg images (preferably between 1MB - 2MB) to
ADBcomp@agd.nsw.gov.au

Prints or CD-Rom entires can also be submitted via post to: ADB PHOTO COMPETITON / PO Box A2122, Sydney South 1235
Include your name, email address and a title or brief description of your photo.

We want you to help us celebrate the 30th anniversary of anti-discrimination laws in NSW by entering our Photo Competition and the chance to win $1000.

The NSW Anti-Discrimination Act details it is unlawful to be discriminated against when you apply for a job, or at work, at the shops, at the club, and getting a service like accommodation, education and medical care on the basis of your sex, disability, race, pregnancy, age, homosexuality, transgender status, marital status or carer's responsibilities.

The NSW Anti-Discrimination Act ensures certain rights are protected and enjoyed equally by everyone in NSW.

To enter, submit a photo, photo series, design or photo montage - print or digital - that expresses your thoughts on the Anti-Discrimination Act, on how equal rights is important to you and those in your community, and how we support equal rights. You could tell a story with pictures. You could take a portrait photo of someone or something that embodies the spirit of the act in NSW: harmony, diversity, acceptance, and human rights.

You can also enter as many times as you like!

Terms and Conditions
1. By submitting your images and text to the Anti-Discrimination Board you agree to these rules.
2. Competition entries will be accepted from Monday 16 July to the close of business on Monday 15 October 2007.
3. Winners will also be notified by email.
4. Prizewinners and their winning images will be notified by email and announced on the Anti-Discrimination Board 's website after the deadline and judging.
5. Preferred format and size are jpegs (filename extension is .jpg) and between 1MB - 2MB, but we will also accept prints if you don't have access to a digital camera.
6. Ensure each image file is no larger than 2MB.
7. If you are under 18, get your parent's or guardian's permission first.
8. You can use digital editing software.
9. Entry to this Competition is free.
10. You can enter as many times as you like.
11. Anyone in NSW can enter with the exception of ADB employees and their family members, who are not permitted to enter.
12. Entry is open only to NSW residents: you must have a current NSW address and may be asked for proof of this address.
13. The total prize pool is valued at $1000
14. By submitting your images and text you give us permission to re-use them in any format.
15. The Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW retains the right to publish any submitted photo in our exhibition and publicity.
16. The Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW will not sell or give away the rights to use your photographs to any third party without seeking prior consent.
17. All decisions of the judges are final, and not subject to review.

 

What we have planned:

A 30th Anniversary of the Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW University Forum
Thursday 13 September, hosted by Sydney University's Koori Centre
Program:
1.00 - 2.30 pm: Thirty Years of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act: Where to Now?
2.30 - 3.30 pm: Refreshments (drinks, fruit, snacks, Anniversary cake)
3.30 - 5.00 pm: The NSW Anti-Discrimination Act and Indigenous issues.

A lunchtime celebration in Sydney's Martin Place with street theatre, entertainment and cake
Tuesday 23 October 12 midday - 2pm
